From the Ward to the Runway
Before he was a designer, Vinny Kamsu, born Tagheu Kamsu Florentin in Bafoussam, Cameroon, was a nurse. Fifteen years of it: intensive care, onco-haematology, abdominal surgery. He still owns a nursing agency in Milan today, and still puts the coat back on when a ward needs him.
It was at the bedside, not in a design studio, that Vinny Kamsu was born. He noticed that patients, well before they were discharged, sometimes in their final days, refused to spend their day in a hospital gown. Dressed, groomed, wearing a scent, they told him, they felt less like patients. One man in his forties, in the terminal stage of his illness, insisted on being impeccably dressed every single day. He didn’t want to arrive in heaven looking unkempt.
That’s the moment the idea took hold: clothing isn’t decoration. It’s armour. A well cut suit or a well chosen fragrance can do something close to medicine: restore dignity, and with it, strength.

Made in Italy, Down to the Last Detail
Every Vinny Kamsu garment and fragrance is developed and produced in Italy, where Florentin has lived for over twenty years. It’s a country that taught him what he now demands of his own work: an obsessive respect for materials, and a standard of finish that turns a garment into something closer to craft than commerce.
Self-taught and field-trained, Florentin built his eye, and his nose, the same way: at fabric fairs, tanneries, and perfumery houses, not in a classroom. The result is a collection shaped by instinct and discipline in equal measure.

Vinny Kamsu is part of Anapenda Group, and brings tailoring and haute parfumerie together under a single identity, rather than treating them as separate lines.
