Vinny Kamsu was founded in 2023, but it began years earlier, at the bedside.
Its founder spent fifteen years as a nurse in Italy, across intensive care, onco-haematology and surgical wards. There, he learned something no design school teaches: that how a man presents himself, even in his final days, is a form of dignity. That conviction became the house.
The Maison works in two disciplines. In fragrance, La Perle Noire and Le Feu, shadow and fire, the two halves of one man. In apparel, made-to-measure pieces are built on a simple principle: one body, one measure, one piece. No two men wear the same garment, because no two men carry themselves the same way.
Every material is sourced in Italy, from mills and tanneries chosen over twenty-two years of living there. Made in Italy, here, is not a supply detail. It is a life choice. Every client is recorded in La Fiche, the house’s private register, and every finished piece carries a name and a date sewn inside it.
The house’s first boutique stands in Abidjan. Not by accident: it is where the founder’s story began, in spirit, long before it began in Italy.
"Soignez votre élégance."
I was born in Bafoussam, Cameroon, and left young to build a life in Italy.
For twenty-two years, most of them spent as a nurse across intensive care, oncology and surgical wards, I watched people meet their most difficult moments. I noticed that the ones who asked to be dressed properly, even then, were not being vain. They were holding onto themselves. That stayed with me longer than anything else from those years.
In 2023, I founded a house under my own name. I had no formal training in fragrance or tailoring. I learned both the way I had learned nursing: by paying close attention, by asking the people who knew more than I did, and by refusing to accept a lesser standard once I understood what the better one looked like.
I am not a designer. I am the person who decided this house should exist, and who has stayed close to every decision since, from the mills we source from to the name stitched inside each piece.
Vinny Kamsu’s first boutique opened in Abidjan. It is where I chose to bring twenty-two years of Italian discipline home, and where the next chapter of this house begins.
Florentin Kamsu, Founder
Every Vinny Kamsu garment and fragrance is developed and produced in Italy, where Florentin has lived for over twenty years. It’s a country that taught him what he now demands of his own work: an obsessive respect for materials, and a standard of finish that turns a garment into something closer to craft than commerce.
Self-taught and field-trained, Florentin built his eye, and his nose, the same way: at fabric fairs, tanneries, and perfumery houses, not in a classroom. The result is a collection shaped by instinct and discipline in equal measure.
Vinny Kamsu is part of Anapenda Group, and brings tailoring and haute parfumerie together under a single identity, rather than treating them as separate lines.
The collection is available online and at our flagship store in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
