Privacy Policy

At Vinny Kamsu, we hold your information the way we hold every client’s story in La Fiche: carefully, and only for as long as it serves you.

Who we are

This policy covers vinnykamsu.com and our boutique in Abidjan. Vinny Kamsu is the data controller for the personal information described below. Questions can be directed to [privacy email / postal address to be added].

Information we collect

  • Identity and contact details — name, email, phone number, delivery and billing address.
  • Order and payment information — items purchased, order history, payment confirmation (we do not store full card numbers; these are processed by our payment provider).
  • Measurement and fitting data — for bespoke and made-to-measure pieces, we record body measurements, fit preferences, and fabric or pattern choices as part of your permanent client record.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, and site usage collected automatically via cookies (see below).
  • Communications — anything you send us directly, including appointment requests and enquiries.

Why we collect it

We use this information to process and fulfil orders, maintain your measurement record for future pieces, communicate about appointments and deliveries, meet legal and accounting obligations, and, where you’ve agreed to it, send updates about the house.

How your measurement record is used

Your entry in La Fiche exists so that returning clients don’t need to be re-measured for every order. We do not share this record outside Vinny Kamsu except with the atelier directly producing your garment, and only to the extent needed to make it.

Sharing your information

We share data only where necessary: with payment processors to complete transactions, with couriers and shipping partners to deliver orders, with our production ateliers in Italy to manufacture bespoke and ready-to-wear pieces, and with service providers who help operate this website, all bound to protect your data and prohibited from using it for their own purposes.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

International transfers

Because our ateliers are based in Italy and our boutique is in Abidjan, your data may be transferred between these locations solely to produce and deliver your order. We take reasonable steps to keep it protected wherever it’s processed.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept as required by tax and accounting law. Measurement data is kept indefinitely as part of your client record, unless you ask us to delete it.

Your rights

You may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information, object to how it’s used, or request a copy of it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email to be added]. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and, where you’ve consented, support marketing. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or our cookie banner.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No online system is completely secure, and we encourage you to contact us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

Children

This website is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date below reflects the most recent version.

Store Policy — Bespoke & Ready-to-Wear

  • Bespoke and made-to-measure orders

Every bespoke piece begins with a fitting, in person at our Abidjan boutique or by appointment in Milan. A deposit of [amount/percentage to be confirmed] is required to begin production and is non-refundable once cutting has started, in line with standard practice for custom-made garments. Production takes approximately six weeks from final measurements. This period reflects the standard our craft is held to, not a delay to apologise for.

One fitting adjustment is included after the initial garment is completed. The balance is due before collection or dispatch. Because each piece is cut for one body and one measure, bespoke orders cannot be returned, exchanged, or cancelled once production has begun.

  • Ready-to-wear

Ready-to-wear pieces may be returned within 14 days of receipt, unworn, unwashed, and with all original tags attached. Refunds are issued to the original payment method once the return is received and inspected. Exchanges for a different size, where available, can be arranged through the same window.

Items marked as final sale are not eligible for return or exchange.

  • Cancellations

Ready-to-wear orders may be cancelled before dispatch. Bespoke orders may be cancelled only before production begins; the deposit is retained to cover time and materials already committed.

  • Shipping and delivery

We ship internationally. Delivery times and costs vary by destination and are confirmed at checkout. Items may also be collected in person at our Abidjan boutique. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery or collection.

  • Care and craftsmanship

Each garment is made to last, and simple care extends that life considerably.

Wool suiting (Super 100s–150s, flannel): air after each wear rather than washing, brush with a soft garment brush to lift dust from the weave, and steam rather than iron directly where possible. Dry clean only, and sparingly — over-cleaning breaks down the fibre faster than wear does. Store on a shaped hanger, never folded, with at least 24 hours’ rest between wears.

Linen (suiting and shirting): linen is meant to soften and relax with age; this is not a flaw. Machine or hand wash cold, low heat if tumble drying, and iron while slightly damp for a cleaner finish. Expect creasing — it’s characteristic of the fibre, not a defect.

Cotton shirting (poplin, oxford, twill): machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, and iron while the fabric is still damp to preserve the weave’s crispness. Avoid chlorine bleach, which weakens cotton fibres over time and dulls colour.

Silk (ties, pocket squares, linings): dry clean only. Avoid direct sunlight for extended periods, which fades silk faster than almost any other fabric, and store flat or loosely rolled rather than folded, to prevent crease lines from setting permanently.

Across all fabrics: rotate pieces rather than wearing the same garment on consecutive days, address stains promptly rather than waiting for a full clean, and avoid direct contact with perfume or deodorant on collars and cuffs, a common and avoidable cause of premature fabric wear.

If a defect in materials or workmanship appears under normal use, contact us within 6 months and we will assess repair or replacement at no charge. This does not cover normal wear, alterations made outside the house, or damage from misuse.

  • Payment

We accept credit cards(visa, master, amex) , cash (in store only) and mobile money (Orange, Moov, MTN) in XOF and USD

  • Questions about your order

Contact us at info@vinnykamsu.com with your order reference for any question about a bespoke fitting, a ready-to-wear return, or a delivery.
